ABOUT OUR DAY NURSERY

Parents are welcome in the Nursery at any time. So that new children can settle as smoothly as possible we invite them to spend time at the Nursery with their parent/s on three occasions prior to starting. This provides the opportunity for families to meet us and become more familiar with the day to day routines and the way the Nursery works.

During the day the Nursery offers opportunities which enable active learning by encouraging children to apply and challenge their existing knowledge, in an atmosphere which values each child. We very much hope that parents will work together with the Nursery in partnership and aid us in compiling a record of achievement for each child.

Children are encouraged to use a wide range of materials inside and outside, and appropriate to their stage of development, including paint, glue, clay and water, so it is advisable to provide a spare set of labelled clothes which will be kept in a bag on their peg. Suitable footwear for safe movement should be worn to the Nursery as well as adequate clothing to wear in the garden throughout the year.
